John Wayne "Duke", Winchester Model 94, .32-40 cal. lever action carbine. Serial #DUKE343, mfg. 1981 only. Unfired, unracked, untouched. 1000 rifles only were produced two years after the Duke's death with the fancy wood, antique gold engraved receiver, wide "rapid-fire" lever (don't try this at home...) and hardwood presentation case. Absolutely gorgeous in every way and a MUST for any true John Wayne collector. This is the original JW commemorative by Winchester and not the cheap imitations you see from the other companies. This gun was UNOPENED until we took it into the photo studio! Gold medallion in buttstock with the Duke's portrait. Titles of his movies engraved into the border of the receiver with JW on a horse and a big cattledrive. 18" carbine barrel with gold barrel bands. Hand-cut floral checkering. Shotgun butt. Vintage style high rear buckhorn sights and high post front sight ike the older guns. Gold engraved on barrel: "DUKE - ONE OF ONE THOUSAND". John Wayne's signature on tang. Saddle ring. Wide rapid-fire lever that John Wayne made famous on the Silver Screen. Beautifully presented in a hardwood case with red velvet interior. Hang tags. Duke booklet and Winchester paperwork. John Wayne colorful paper factory carton and original shipping carton. Includes a box of official John Wayne ammunition. Stunning looking! A showstopper!
