Sharps New Model 1863, .52-70 cal. single shot carbine. Serial #C29766. Post-Civil War conversion in very good condition! 22" carbine barrel has bright shiny excellent six-groove bore. Saddle ring. Correct marking of "New Model 1863" inscribed on top of barrel and rework inspector's script cartouche of "DFC" on left side of buttstock. Barrel band. Patina is nice and smooth. Elevator type rear sight. C. Sharps 1849 patent date on left side of frame. Works well! Wood is cracked 1" on both sides of lower buttstock and has a screw on the bottom for repair. Really nice Civil War era Sharps carbine with much history! Antique.
