John Wayne "1 of 300 Duke Set", Winchester Model 94's, .32-40 cal. lever action carbines. Serial #'s JWM270 & JWMD270, mfg. 1981 only. Unfired, unracked, untouched. 300 of these unique sets - one rifle in antique gold receiver and one in pewter finish rifles were produced two years after the Duke's death with fancy wood, receivers engraved with names of movies and scenes, wide "rapid-fire" levers (don't try this at home...) and hardwood presentation case. Absolutely gorgeous in every way and a MUST for any true John Wayne collector. These are the original JW commemoratives by Winchester and not the cheap imitations you see from the other companies. This set was UNOPENED until we took it into the photo studio! Gold medallion in buttstocks with the Duke's portrait. Titles of his movies engraved into the border of the receiver with JW on a horse and a big cattledrive. 18" carbine barrel with gold barrel bands. Hand-cut floral checkering. Shotgun butt. Vintage style high rear buckhorn sights and high post front sight ike the older guns. Gold engraved on barrel: "DUKE - ONE OF 300". John Wayne's signature on tang. Saddle rings. Wide rapid-fire levers that John Wayne made famous on the Silver Screen. Only detraction on the set is some storage corrosion on bottom of the gold gun's lever. Beautifully presented in a hardwood case with red velvet interior. Hang tags. Duke booklet and Winchester paperwork. John Wayne colorful paper factory cartons and original shipping cartons. Includes two boxes of official John Wayne ammunition. Stunning looking pair! A showstopper! NOT OFTEN SEEN - MOST WERE HOARDED. Extra shipping required because of heavy case. We have extra photos of this set, to view, email Scott@thegunrunner.com if interested. C&R OK.
