U.S. Union Switch & Signal Model 1911A1, .45 auto military pistol. Serial #1091278, mfg. 1943. World War II standard officer's issue. Rare contractor for the World War II .45 auto and so marked on the slide with "USS" symbol and "U.S. & S. Co. Swissvale, PA. U.S.A." Very good condition with 90% parkerization - some rubbing on both sides of frame and underside of frame. Brown plastic grips are excellent. Excellent shiny bore. "P" in front of rear sight. Right side of frame is marked "United States Property M1911A1 U.S. Army". Barrel lug is correctly marked "HS" (High Standard). Very nice collector piece of the Big One! C&R OK.
